The Vigils, Trinity High’s secret society, have complete power over the school and its students. However, when a freshman bravely refuses to sell chocolate for them, their control is tested. Even so, bullies do not take “no” for an answer.

Booktalk:

Do I dare disturb the universe? Jerry Renault is his own person. When his school’s secret society, the Vigils, demands he sell chocolates, he does the unthinkable. He adheres to his pride and rejects their bullying. At first applauded by the student body for his efforts, Jerry then learns the horrible chastisements of fighting something bigger and more powerful.  One must ask, is it worth it disturbing the universe?
